Shreeja India uses a balanced approach in imparting intense football coaching as well as out-of-school learning to tribal girls (10-18 years) with an intention to engage, educate and enrich them .
Regular football practice and exercises enhance their physical development and help to build their social capital. The powerful bond created on the field equips the girls to fight social evils like child marriage, abuse, trafficking and violence against women as one social faction.
This connection formed on the football ground gets reflected during the out-of-school classes of these underprivileged first-generation learners and enhances their academic performance.
Shreeja out-of-school learning curriculum designed is far beyond the school syllabi. The set of courses selected for teaching are based on the needs and aspirations of the beneficiary girls. Shreeja India intends to address the huge gap between the urban and rural education systems, bridge the digital divide and most importantly stop school dropouts. Our academy delivers classes that are based on collaborative learning and activity-based tutoring. We also encourage participation in extra-curricular activities and ensure involvement of the girls’ parents in their education to help create an ambience to facilitate unlocking of their potentials.
The Shreeja India Academy in Rajnagar also has a library containing 1000+ books and a garment bank for the Shreeja Girls.
